Mojito

Ingredients

  • 1 to 1.5 Teaspoons of Sugar in the Raw

  • 1 Lime

  • .5 Teaspoon of 1:1 simple syrup

  • 2 oz. of White rum (Probitas, Plantation 3 Stars, or similar)

  • Mint leaves

  • Club soda

  • Crushed ice

Instructions

  1. Trim the ends off of a lime and cut the lime in half and then each half into quarters.

  2. Discard the ends of the lime.

  3. In a highball glass, add the lime pieces and 1 to 1.5 teaspoons of Sugar in the Raw.

  4. Add .5 teaspoon of 1:1 simple syrup or flavored syrup.

  5. Add about 8 mint leaves.

  6. Gently muddle sugar, lime, syrup and leaves a few times.

  7. Add crushed ice.

  8. Add 2 oz. of white rum.

  9. Stir gently with a swizzle stick.

  10. Add more crushed ice and top with club soda.

  11. Garnish with a sprig of mint and serve with a straw.
